The atrocities of Aurangzeb, the demon-emperor

1. Aurangzeb murdered his elder brother Dara Shikoh, who was a Sufi as well as a great
scholar of Vedanta, to become the emperor.

2. When he saw the opulence of Mathura, he ordered the desecration of all the temples of
Krishna in the district, including Krishna Janmabhumi, on which a mosque still stands. The
Hindus had to transfer all the images of Krishna under the protection of Rajput kings. One can have the audience of famous images of Krishna, built by Krishna's great grandson Vajranabh in Rajasthan: Shrinathji at Nathdwara, Govindadevji at Jaipur, Madanmohanji at Karauli, etc.

3. Then, the demon got the ninth Sikh guru, Tegh Bahadurji beheaded at Chandni Chowk because he had spoken against the forceful conversion of Kashmiri Pandits into Islam.

Here is an excellent blog containing exhibits from Bikaner Museum on the atrocities by Aurangzeb. At the end, there are links to History of Aurangzeb by Sir Jadunath Sarkar.
